Yong is a new character in Netflix's Pucca: Love Recipe. She's also a minor antagonist and one of the few female ones.
Biography[]
Yong appears in episode 16, The Maiden, Awakened as the titular main antagonist. One day, Pucca, Garu, Abyo, and Ching were cleaning as an errand for Master Soo's favor. Abyo accidentally put a hole in what he thought was a poster. This ended up releasing Yong, she held the group captive, demanding they tell her Master Soo's whereabouts.
She gets no luck and releases them. She wrecks havoc, grabbing random citizens to know of Soo's whereabouts but again they don't know. Master Soo sees this and goes into hiding rather than face her.
Pucca and the group confront him and ask him to confront her. But his tone indicates their past. Master Soo then explains who Yong is and why she was stuck on the paper. Many years ago, Yong was an innocent young maiden. Master Soo himself taught her magic.
She eventually revealed her romantic feelings to him. But he coldly rejected her. He told her if her magic were as strong as his someday, he might reconsider being with her. She took his words to heart and tried becoming powerful.
In desperation, she turned to black magic to become more powerful then him. But this made her dangerous and Master Soo locked her in the scroll to protect the world from her.
Yong, herself, was at the Goh-Rong bullying the chefs to make her foo. They ran out of food, due to her eating all that they had. In her defense, she was in a scroll for over 100 years. Its then the group comes with Master Soo.
He professes that he will do right by her and that she won't have to be alone anymore. This hints that Master Soo has now fallen for her. But Yong does not recognize Master Soo, as she remembered him being much younger. She at first lashes a spell out of anger to see her idol now an old man. But Pucca's pure love for Garu cancels out her attack and weakens her a moment.
Master Soo comes to her aid, but Yong is still disgusted by what he's become. Rather than accepting it, she voluntarily returns to her cursed scroll than see Master Soo as an old man. This rejection hurts Master Soo a moment and cries in defeat.

- She is also one of the few to be rejected by Master Soo. For that matter, when he returned her affection, she's of the few to reject him.
