The day starts off normally at the Goh-Rong Restaurant. The chefs are cooking, Pucca is daydreaming about Garu, and Garu is bringing his delivery to the restaurant while dodging Pucca's kisses. Things take a turn when messenger birds scatter posters across town, advertising a cooking competition in which the prize is a trip to outer space. Pucca is delighted by the idea, dreaming of a romantic adventure with Garu, and is appointed assistant chef to Uncle Dumpling who will enter the competition to represent the Goh-Rong.
All across Sooga, others see the posters and decide to join the competition while a mysterious man, Fyah, converses with his boss using a can-shaped walky-talky. Fyah confirms to have delivered the posters, especially to the Goh-Rong. His boss, Dong King, tells him to disgrace the Goh-Rong team and Fyah declares he's set up a few dirty tricks just for them.
At the competition, Fyah directs all the participants to their assigned seats, whispering to his associates which one will be for the Goh-Rong. For the first competition, they must fry eggs and toss them as high as they can managed. Most do well enough, but some have their eggs punctured by Fyah's messenger birds and thus are out of the running. Uncle Dumpling and Pucca find they've been given a toy frying pan which complains of the stovetop heat and blasts Uncle Dumpling with water. He is knocked into the distance and Fyah laughs, while the timer is counting down. Pucca takes over for her team, plugging the water jet and frying her egg, then letting the toy's water pressure launch in into the air. It reaches far greater heights than anyone else's and once she catches it, the egg is cooked perfectly. The recovered Uncle Dumpling congratulates her and Fyah decides not underestimate their team again.
On the second round, the participants are presented a pool of water and told to fish for their ingredients. Abyo reels in a picture of Linguini in a bathing suit which scares him. Bruce pulls up a miniature toy SpongeBob. Uncle Dumpling gets a explosive device that blasts him off into the distance once again, and he calls to Garu to help Pucca. The ninja boy takes up the fishing pole and manages to catch a huge fish, though it eats him. Enraged, Pucca cannonballs into the pool and knocks everything out of it, including the fish (and Santa) while she gets Garu back. He can’t appreciate the rescue as she takes the opportunity to kiss him and Fyah is now thoroughly upset by his failures to thwart Goh-Rong.
For the final round, the remaining contestants are asked to cook their dish. This news surprises Abyo (who had only been interested in the prize) and once Ching informs him it was a cooking competition all along, he bows out of the race. Pucca and Garu work together to turn their ingredients into a soup which they place on the table for tasting. Fyah reveals their judge is a goat, Mr. Bah-Bah who is happily chewing on socks and turns away from the Goh-Rong's food which seems to be a snub. In actuality, the goat only likes socks and Fyah planned to use its picky eating to make everyone think the Goh-Rong food is no good. However, the goat seems to change its mind and head towards Goh-Rong's dish. Turns out, Pucca had already slipped Santa's sock into the soup and the goat makes a move to eat it.
Fyah refuses to let this happen and jumps into the space ship that would be the grand prize. With it, he steals all the socks from the audience, cans them, and fires then at Pucca and Garu. Garu defends with his sword but a particularly stinky sock renders him unconscious. Pucca takes over for him and starts hitting all the canned socks back at Fyah, destroying the space ship and leaving him to crash. The goat judge has finished the Goh-Rong's soup, which makes their restaurant the winner. Garu finally recovers from his fainting spell but must run as Pucca wants a congratulatory kiss. The battered Fyah informs his boss that they failed, to which Dong King declares they'll begin their official mission.
From the sky, a golden can drops down into Sooga Village with a special label "The Great Dong King".
