Stop That Yang is the third segment of the fourth episode of the second season and the thirtieth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on March 31, 2008.

Synopsis[]

When Dada messes up the painting of Yin and Yang symbol in the Goh-Rong, problems arise in Sooga Village.

Plot[]

The day starts in Goh-Rong as Ching is enjoying a fresh bowl of noodles but is knocked off the table as Garu is fending off Pucca who is chasing him around the restaurant. She tricks him into stopping by dressing up as a traffic enforcer and the law-abiding ninja pauses long enough for her to catch him. The chefs enter from the kitchen, telling Pucca that is not the time to 'kissy face'.

There's been rumors that a world-famous food critic will be coming to visit them and they are hoping for a good review, so they are decorating the restaurant to make it look perfect. They've even added a new Yin Yang plaque on the wall, a symbol of peace and harmony, which Dada is still painting. His ladder starts to wobble and as he flails, he accidentally spills white paint on the black half of the symbol, meaning there is now too much Yang energy. The chefs implore him to fix it fast, but he knocks it off the wall and it goes bouncing out the front door. The unbalanced sign bumps into the lion statues out front and, throwing off their harmony, they begin to fight. Garu takes off after the sign as it heads through town.

The chefs are angry at Dada for the disaster he's caused but the lingering effects of the ruined Yin Yang sign warps their thinking and they instead declare he deserves a raise. But the busboy's joy is cut off when the food critic, Big Tongue Bagong, finally arrives to the restaurant. The chefs panic and rush to serve him, but the imbalanced harmony causes the chefs to start act all loopy and they keep messing things up. Setting tables, seating him, and even taking his order all go wrong though Pucca and Ching try to cover for them.

Garu continues to chase the Yin Yang sign through Sooga Village where its effects spread to the locals. Abyo trades his lady-killer dance moves for ballet, Santa's peaceful unicorn joyride turns to him being attacked by animals; even a local singing group loses their harmony and cracks a window pane with their din. Everything is being turned upside down.

Big Tongue Bagong continues to grow impatient with the chefs as they struggle to cook a bowl of noodles. Ching pleads with him to give them another chance, assuring him they know what they are doing. The explosions from the kitchen say otherwise.

Back with Garu, the Yin sign has landed in the river and caused the water to flow backwards. He hops into a boat to give chase, but it takes him up a waterfall and both are launched through the air.

The chefs present Big Tongue his food but have mistakenly given him soup (with Mio included). The critic rejects this, reiterating his desire for noodles, so Pucca carries her uncles back to the kitchen to try again. They come back with a cake, ready to celebrate his birthday, but these shenanigans only further aggravate their customer.

Garu finally catches the Yin Yang sign, but now he can't make it stop. At the same time, the chefs present Big Tongue a bowl of noodles but they are frozen, leaving his prehensile tongue stuck to the bowl. This is the final straw and once he gets himself free, he is ready to leave, declaring the Goh-Rong is no good. This is the exact moment Garu comes crashing through the door with the Yin Yang sign which Painter Pucca quickly alters to its proper look. The restored symbol blasts its power across town, returning everything to its proper state and restoring the harmony. This includes the chefs who now must work hard to make up for their mistakes. Big Tongue refuses to give them a final chance but Pucca won't take no for an answer. Grabbing his tongue, she stretches it to the kitchen where the chefs make their famous noodles for her to tie the tongue around. Once she lets go, it returns to the critic's mouth and he is can finally enjoy the true cooking prowess of the Goh-Rong. He declares the noodles are the best he's ever had.

Big Tongue has written glowing reviews of the Goh-Rong which gives them a flood of customers. The chefs are glad all has returned to normal, including Pucca chasing Garu around the restaurant. Just like before, she decides to halt him in his tracks but this uses the Yin Yang sign as a blockade. The ninja crashes right into it and as he's stunned from the collision, Pucca lays a kiss on him. Like the chefs say, happiness comes from blending a little Yin with a little Yang.

Trivia[]

  • The Local singing group are the only persons who were spared from being restored their harmony.
