Spring Mushrooms is the 1st segment of the 2nd episode of Pucca: Love Recipe.
Synopsis[]
While looking for Spring Mushrooms for a Goh-Rong dish, Pucca and friends become lost in the Labyrinth Forest. To make things worse, Tobe and his ninjas have been hired to stop them.
Plot[]
Pucca and her friends are in the Goh-Rong Restaurant where the chefs let them taste their new menu item: Spring Dumplings. The kids gobble them up and find they now have great bouncing abilities which Pucca takes advantage of to get a kiss from Garu. The secret of the recipe is spring mushrooms which Dada brings out to show them, only to trip and launch the mushrooms out the window. The chefs worry that they can't make their dumplings without the mushrooms, and turn to Garu to get more before the restaurant opens. He agrees and with the others who volunteer to help, they set out to get more.
Fyah, spying on the group from the Dong King Restaurant, calls up his boss to tell about Goh-Rong's new menu and the need for more mushrooms. He is told to stop them by getting the ingredients first. Fyah would rather laze around the restaurant, tired after catering to Ring Ring's every demand, and decides to find a villain who can take down Garu instead. He approaches Tobe and his clumsy ninjas, offering them carts of canned food in exchange for their services.
The kids arrive to the Labyrinth Forest but quickly become lost among its tower hedges. Tobe's group have also entered, with the dark ninja thinking he's outwit his enemies by leaving a breadcrumb trail to get out. Unfortunately, his minions have eaten it so they are lost as well. He declares it time for Plan B: split up and attack the kids. The ninjas lure away both Abyo and Pucca with false claims about spring mushroom locations and while Ching and Garu are suspicious, Ching also falls for this when Abyo's name is thrown in. Garu is not so sure.
At the Goh-Rong, customers are already beginning to line up at the doors which worries the chefs. They need Pucca to return with the spring mushrooms quickly.
Tobe's plan has worked pretty well. Pucca mistakes a mole for Garu and end sup stuck in a hole in the ground. Abyo is trapped by a briar patch that he can't hack through even with his nunchucks. Ching tries climbing a tree to work out the labyrinth's layout but can't retain the information long enough to use it. They're not even close to find the mushrooms which is bad because the Goh-Rong has officially opened and all of their customers are eager for spring dumplings.
Garu, not dissuaded by any tricks, locates the mushroom patch he was looking for but is confronted by Tobe and forced into a battle. They are well matched with Garu slowly gaining the advantage, though he makes a wrong move by stepping on a spring mushroom. It propels him into a tree branch and a rock, knocking him unconscious while Tobe claims victory over his opponent.
Pucca is frustrated by her predicament but after a lot of struggling, she decides to escape by spinning herself fast enough to become a human-drill, digging her way down through the earth.
Tobe has collected all of the spring mushrooms into his bag, still gloating for having defeat Garu. Unfortunately for him, he's found by Pucca who pops up under his feet with enough force that he's sent flying with his pilfered prize. Garu, now safe, awakens to find Pucca hovering over him.
The Goh-Rong group is still in a panic about the many orders for spring dumplings, which they can't make any without their key ingredient. At that moment, Tobe crashes through their roof with the bag of mushrooms, delighting the chefs who get to cooking.
Back at the forest, Pucca's mole friend has dug a tunnel out of the labyrinth, rescuing the kids. Ching and Abyo are happy enough to escape but Garu has to run from Pucca who is still acting like a mole herself, popping up from the ground to surprise him with kisses.
