I'm too perfect to be angry...

—Ring Ring

Ring Ring (링링, Ling Ling) is a major female antagonist of the Pucca series. She is Pucca's archenemy and rival, as well as the goddess of the wind and the bearer of the Yang Curse. She usually tries to compete with Pucca and prove herself to be better than her, but such a task cannot be accomplished without outdoing Pucca's abilities. In Pucca: Love Recipe, she is often seen competing against Pucca for Garu's attention and affections.

Biography[]

Ring Ring claims herself to be very beautiful and smart, and likes to be fashionable, but she was born with a small defect; Whenever she gets angry, upset, or frustrated, Ring Ring's other personality becomes dominant, and she gains unique powers, which can intimidate those around her.

Appearance[]

Ring Ring has bright blue hair with a unique zigzag hairline, which is kept in a heart-shaped bun. She also has slanted, black eyes and pink cheek marks, and has been noted for her perfectly symmetrical head.

Her normal attire consists of a pink dress, matching pink gloves, and pink boots.

Yang Form[]

In her transformed state, Ring Ring is an absolutely stunning figure with cascading, long, and flowing vibrant blue hair that falls elegantly down her back. Her attire consists of a luxurious red ornate Chinese opera gown, which is embellished with intricate details, and a matching headdress crown that complements her regal appearance. Her face also gains a red complexion, as well as unique red skull horn markings that add a touch of mystery to her captivating presence.

Personality[]

Ring Ring is very pretty, stylish, and fabulous, but underneath her exterior, she is terribly vain, selfish, spoiled, bratty, rude, and envious, always showing off at every possible moment and desiring to flaunt her achievements at any given opportunity.

Ring Ring also has a bad temper and is very quick to anger, as she often unleashes her powers, which unfortunately for her, often has a stronger influence on her actions than her so-called good side. However, she often calms herself down by chanting out her "I'm too perfect to be angry" mantra in order to prevent herself from going on a frenzied emotional rampage whenever she experiences frustration. But sometimes, on many occasions, Ring Ring acts nicer to Pucca, but her displays of kindness usually turn out to be nothing more than a facade for her underlying evil intentions.

In some episodes however, she has been shown to have feel a sense of regret or sadness toward her actions.

Relationships[]

Pucca & Garu[]

She despises Pucca for being the prettiest girl in all of Sooga Village. She always wants to be better than Pucca and will cause a lot of trouble for her due to jealousy and hatred towards her. In the Jetix series, Ring Ring often uses Garu to annoy Pucca by making her jealous or making Garu disappear. However, in Pucca: Love Recipe (more specifically, in Enter: Ring Ring), Ring Ring falls in love with Garu after he unintentionally saves her and frequently tries to express her feelings to him, much to his (and Pucca's) annoyance.

In Little Miss Sooga, Ring Ring tries to present her talents to Garu and the other judges in a beauty pageant in hopes to be able to prove that she can grasp Garu's attention better than Pucca.

In Tame That Toon, Ring Ring teleports to a retro cartoon version of Sooga Village, teams up with the toon version of herself and tries to erase Pucca. Ring Ring accidentally erases Garu from existence instead but makes light of her error as she is delighted to watch Toon Pucca cry.

Abyo[]

Only in another universe/parody episode does she show interest in Abyo. In the usual episodes, she barely ever interacts with Abyo, so she has a neutral view of him. However, Abyo sometimes dislikes Ring Ring, as shown in He Loves Me Not and It's a Ring Ring Thing and may get defensive when he's insulted by her.

In Ching It On, it is implied Ring Ring is interested in Abyo because he is popular.

Ching[]

Like Pucca's friends, Ring Ring does not like Ching, though not to the extent of Pucca. She gets on her bad side a lot of the time for being rude to Pucca and using Garu. In Ching It On, Ring Ring hates both Ching and Pucca, and manipulates Abyo into getting him to like her to annoy Ching, including not letting Ching join her cheerleading squad.

In Ring Ring's Way of Making a Friend, she makes multiple, deceptive attempts to befriend Ching in order to take advantage of her supportive and friendly personality and use it to get closer to Garu.

Dada[]

In the Jetix series, Dada is shown to have a crush on Ring Ring, but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings. In fact, she has been shown to abuse him multiple times (usually at the end of episodes), but Dada doesn't seem to mind, happy to be acknowledged by her. In a few episodes, she has dated Dada, like when he was made handsome by Mister Dishy in the episode Soap Opera.

In the Chef-Napped trilogy, Ring Ring teamed up with Dada, the Vagabonds, Muji and Tobe to steal the greatest noodle chefs of the world, including Pucca's uncles, so they would be forced to cook only for her as revenge for not cooking her food on demand.

She was also unknowingly infatuated with Dada in Soap Opera because of his suave appearance, repeatedly telling Pucca that Garu can't do the things that her boyfriend could do. She eventually discovered his true identity and dumped him.

In Pucca: Love Recipe, she has little to no interactions with Dada and the two do not like each other.

Character variations[]

Abilities[]

Ring Ring is the second strongest character in the series, as she is the only one who can fight Pucca toe-to-toe and has managed to overwhelm her multiple times.

Normal Form[]

Ring Ring doesn't have many abilities, besides deceiving and manipulating people with her cuteness and beauty.

Yang Form[]

In her Yang Form however, Ring Ring has unusual powers, such as stretching and controlling her hair and the sleeves of her dress, which she can use as extra arms. She also has the ability to fly, and she can use her operatic, high-pitched scream to create supersonic sound waves, which are capable of tearing up trees and destroying half of Sooga Village.

Ring Ring's Yang form comes out when she's mad enough. In It's a Ring Ring Thing, her Yang form ends up splitting from her neuro-typical side through hypnosis, but they later recombine. It is shown in a transition of various episodes that Ring Ring can control her Yang side at will, although her powers are slightly reduced.
