Master Chef of Dong King? is the 3rd segment of the 7th episode of Pucca: Love Recipe.
Synopsis[]
Dada has gone over to the Dong King side, where he hopes to be better appreciated. But is he desperate enough for this new job to betray the Goh Rong team?
Plot[]
The chefs are putting the final touches on the day's dumplings, but they find their jar of special sauce empty. They call for Dada to get more from the pantry, but the bus boy is missing and Dandy reports their entire stock of dumpling sauce is gone. They find a trail left behind, so Detective Pucca and Garu set off to find the thief.
They follow the trail right to the Dong King Restaurant where customers are leaving, pleased with the new dumplings. Inside, Fyah is introducing the new Dong King chef who they hope will defeat the Goh Rong, and it turns out to be Dada himself. When the bus boy sees his friends in the audience, he flees.
They chase after him, knocking aside Fyah's minions, must face more of the Dong King staff in the kitchen. One cooks gets his pepper attack blown back into his face, the other throws a time bomb with the clock set too long. Casano launches a make up attack on Garu which gives him a beard that lonely Pucca likes. He tries to do the same to Pucca but after seeing her beautifully painted face, he passes out. Pucca and Garu find Dada in a hidden room where the bus boy admits to have stolen the dumpling sauce from Goh Rong and used it to join the Dong King restaurant. He explain how it all happened.
The other day, Dada stayed up all night creating a new dumpling recipe and was eager to show it to the chefs. However, they were busy with cooking and asked Dada to take over the grilled vegetables so Ho could make a bathroom break. The busboy tried his hardest but his skills weren’t good enough and he almost ruined the dish if not for Dandy swooping in to save the day. The new recruit earned great praise from the chefs, who finally took notice of his amazing skills, while Dada went ignored. And even worse, his special dumplings have fallen on the floor during all the ruckus, ruined.
Depressed by the whole ordeal, Dada took his ruined dish outside where he was met by Fyah. The man tried one of the dumplings and despite his obvious disgust, he told Dada they were delicious and offered him a job as a chef in the Dong King. Dada was delighted by this praise and though Fyah declared he had to do something for him first, Dada accepted and eventually stole the dumpling sauce.
