Synopsis[]
When Pucca falls ill with the Flu Manchu, Ho goes to get the cure from the fire swamps of Sooga. There, he meets and falls in love with Hottie, Goddess of the Fire Swamp.
Plot[]
Pucca has come down with the Flu Manchu, to the worry of her uncles. She is currently in the hallucinations stage, seeing Garu's face in her noodle bowl and launching herself into it for a kiss. With some research, the chefs learn that the only cure is the Searing Hot Soup of a Thousand Fevers but this requires Lava Peppers which only grow in the Fire Swamps of Sooga. Uncle Dumpling and Linguini fear this scalding danger until their eyes turn to Ho with his natural affinity to fire. He's hesitant to accept this quest but after watching the fevered Pucca steal Dada's mop to kiss her hallucinations, he agrees to go.
Ho arrives at the fire swamp, navigating the dangerous terrain which catches the eye of a mysterious lady with fire hair. At last, he arrives to a field of lava peppers but is halted by the woman who introduces herself as Hottie, goddess of the fire swamp. She make clear her romantic attraction and Ho responds in kind. Even when she offers him the lava peppers he clearly wanted, he cannot recall what he needed them for, too focused on his new love.
Back in Sooga, Linguini and Uncle Dumpling are still tending to Pucca, trying to keep her indoors so her flu won't spread. but he delirious girl sneaks out in search of Garu. She believes she's caught him and commences the usual kissing, but in reality she has captured one of Santa's reindeer to the shock of the other villagers. Santa calls out to Ho to bring back the peppers soon and save them from Pucca's rampage.
Ho and Hottie continue to grow closer, enjoying a lava hot tub and steamed buns together. Meanwhile, Pucca's fever has reached its peak and after overloading her with images of Garu, she faints and is rushed to the hospital. Neither noodles nor cute pictures of Garu can pull her out of it now. She needs that soup.
The fire swamp love affair continues on but Ho starts to see a familiar face here and there until at last he recalls: Pucca needs help. He grabs Hottie's lava peppers and with a rushed goodbye, turns to leave her without an explanation. Enraged to be so coldly ditched, Hottie attacks him with all the power of the lava swamp though his skills let him escape. The goddess is left behind, so heartbroken that even her hair turns blue.
Pucca has been taken back home, watched over by Uncle Dumpling and Linguini, when Ho crashes through the ceiling with the lava peppers. They rush to the kitchen to prepare the Searing Hot Soup of a Thousand Fevers and once they feed it to Pucca, she steams out the Flu Manchu and is completely healed. She quickly proves this once she sees the real Garu passing by and rushes out to tackle him with kisses. The chefs are delighted that she is all better.
Though Ho is happy for Pucca with her funny love, he laments the loss of his own, hoping to find it again some day. At that moment, Hottie herself enters the kitchen with a delivery of more lava peppers, willing to forgive and forget. The lovers are glad to reunite and share a scalding kiss that quickly fills the room with steam. The other chefs decide that they can't stand the heat and flee the kitchen, leaving their brother with his fiery true love.
