Granny is a new character added to Netflix's Pucca: Love Recipe. She's an elderly member of the village and is often seen with her cart or carrying a basket on her head. It is possible that Punch, one of the pirates, and Muji are her brothers, due to their hairstyles being the same.
Biography[]
Granny is a background character often. Though she is given a few roles and interacts with Pucca and her friends. She's very kind and friendly to those around her. Her real name is never stated, she's known to all as "Granny". She gave Pucca the table of the rabbit ghost out of thanks for helping her find city hall in the episode The Table Ghost. Though she is old, she is apparently active like in Food Triathlon she participated in the marathon. She did with hopes to have her wish granted, for a good harvest for the village.
In Love Soup, Granny had a brief relationship with Fyah. This is due to the effects of the aroma from Pucca's love soup. When the effects were over, Granny seemed unaware of what happened. Simply winking at Fyah, calling their tryst "short but magical". While Fyah sat in utter shock.
She's given more of a role in The Search For Rice. As she agrees with Fyah and his group that they can have the rice she and Master Mi farm. But only on the condition they do the work in place of their lost cow. However, things go unexpected when their cow returns and shoos the men off.
This leaves Pucca and Garu to collect the rice for returning the missing cow. This episode also hints that she and Master Mi are in a relationship. As she often nagged him like a wife, giving them a bit of a cliched "old married couple" dynamic.
Their romantic relationship is confirmed at the end of Valentine's Day. Granny would present Master Mi with chocolate she made for him. She then politely asks her old friend to continuing living with him in peace. He smiles and silently accepts her proposal. The two are seen in a loving embrace.
Both care for the cow and treat it like their surrogate child.
