It is unknown who takes the title of the father of the most famous ninja Garu is. He has only been mentioned in Pucca Power Up and Pucca: Love Recipe.
Pucca Power Up[]
The unknown father makes an official appearance in the DS title Pucca Power Up. It starts out with Garu doing his usually training and the scene cuts to what seems him remembering back when his father died. He was most likely just a toddler still and could most likely only remember very bits of what happened that day. What the scene does show is that his father fights and unknown man who looks like Tobe. It was never confirmed but, it is very possible this was Tobe's father. The died by a ninja star to the head. The young child witnesses this scene and the man that killed his father looks at the screen and laughs. Most likely was aware the son had watched his father die.
How is it confirmed it was his father? If you rip Pucca Power Up, you will be able to see the codes. The model used in that scene was titled as "Garu's Father" which confirms that it was his father in the death scene.
Pucca: Love Recipe[]
When Vooz moved to a new company they no longer had the same team to do the series. What makes a difference in this is now there was a new confirmation about his father. In the episode Dong King vs. Goh Rong Part 1, Dong King shows his self to Garu and told him he was his father. He even showed a "picture" from when he was a baby. This surprised Garu and made him even shake to this. He told Garu that if he joined him at his side, he would tell him about Garu's past and his mother. Conflicted Garu did decide to betray his friends and did as was told. He found out it was all a lie though and he didn't meet his father after all.
This reaction is unlike Garu but, it may prove that he doesn't truly remember who his parents are and what his former past was. This could mean that something tragic happened to Garu in the past to make him not remember who he used to be as a child. He is supposed to be a 13-year-old boy who also lives on his own to become a ninja and restore honor to his family name, has been pointed out a lot of times. The question leaves what has happened to him to be so dedicated on the honor of a ninja and who he truly is or was.
Another hint of Garu’s father is in the old Pucca web animations and old descriptions of Garu stating he wants to regain his family’s honor and also follow in his father’s footsteps.
Currently there is a confirmation that it has only been considered to reveal his past but, they didn't say when or if they will actually reveal it for sure at this moment.
