Full Moon Pucca is the third segment of the tenth episode of the second season and the thirty-sixth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on July 14, 2008.

Synopsis[]

Pucca brings the full moon to Garu’s house in order to use the light to make him fall in love with her. It works, but it soon starts to become tiresome. Meanwhile, the Vagabond Ninja Clan decide to harvest tofu from the moon.

Plot[]

Pucca and Ching are watching the full moon from Garu's porch, admiring its beauty. Ching mentions that a full moon is supposed to make people feel romantic but as they watch Garu and Abyo sparring in the yard, they find no such affect from them. This is exemplified as Pucca tries and fails to catch Garu for a kiss. Ching theories that the moon's distance weakens its power and that if it was closer, it might make a difference. Pucca is intrigued by this idea. Climbing to the top of a nearby mountain, Pucca uses a rope to lasso the moon and pull down, a tough job even for her. As she tries to wrangle it into town, she passes by Tobe who ponders with his ninja if this qualifies as Pucca "mooning them".

Tying the moon up to a tree, she lets it shine over a tiny pond to test if its light will have an effect. Two koi fish leap from the water and once they catch eyes, they immediately fall in loves. A similar situation happens for a cat who was standing nearby and attracted a dog to chase it, only for the two to start kissing instead. These results are the proof she needed and Pucca quickly repositions the moon to hang right over Garu's house, opening his window so it shines inside.

The slumbering ninja awakes from the bright light suddenly on him and after going to the window to see what has caused it, he is struck by the moon's power and thrown into a romantic mindset. Pucca is the very first thing he sees and, unable to resists the romance, he runs to her and they share a very big kiss. While the two are preoccupied, Dada runs past them, chasing a runaway dirty dish and spoon while a cow jumps over the anchored moon to run after him. The Vagabond Clan are walking nearby, Clown making unfunny jokes about food and Shaman complaining about being hungry. They spy the moon where Pucca left it tied up and it gives Chief a big idea.

Pucca and Garu stroll down the street, holding hands, until they encounter a puddle. Ching and Abyo walk up to the pair from the other side of the puddle, with Abyo asking Garu if he wants to spar, ripping off his shirt. Garu uses Abyo's ripped shirt to put over the puddle so that Pucca can walk over it. The two continue on their merry way. Ching sighs at the cuteness while Abyo exclaims his disgust.

Pucca and Garu's public affection for each other gets on Abyo's nerves, as Garu starts ignoring him in favor of Pucca. On a dinner date, Pucca and Garu share a spaghetti kiss. Ching asks Abyo to be more like Garu, but Abyo tells her that he is a kung fu warrior and not some "mushy kissy-face" while slamming his plate of spaghetti. The spaghetti flies up and lands on his head, making Ching giggle.

Meanwhile, the Vagabonds are still hanging around the tethered moon. According to Chief, the moon is made with tofu which they can and sell to their content. Attempts to climb Pucca's rope to it fail but after seeing how the cow leaps over the moon easily, Chief develops a plan.

At the Goh-Rong Restaurant, Pucca's three uncles see Garu being overly affectionate to Pucca - flowers from their table displays to present her a bouquet - and suspect he is under a spell. Linguini peeks outside and sees the moon shining on his house, realizing that Garu is moonstruck.

The next day, Pucca is trying to work at the restaurant wile Garu continues to shower her with affection. Though she likes this at first, it quickly becomes too much as it is now getting in the way of her duties. Her uncles acknowledge that while this was her greatest wish come true, it might not be such a good thing as she is now the one running away from Garu's love.

Riding on the cow, the Vagabond Clan successfully get up on the moon and can begin their harvesting. The "tofu" is not so appetizing, but Chief tells them not to complain as it is free.

Pucca is trying to sleep, but the sound of music wakes her. She finds Garu under her window, serenading her with a suspiciously familiar voice. She slams the window on him and while he doesn't notice, sneaks around to uncover Destiny as the real singer, letting Garu lip-sync. She is not impressed with the dragon or the love-struck ninja. She storms back into the restaurant, disgruntled, while the chefs remark that this is not the Garu she has always known and loved in her funny way. Pucca considers this and now knows what she must do, running off with Garu right on her heels.

She takes off on her scooter, not pleased to see Garu tailing her, and arrives back at his house where she unties the moon. While holding it, she stops and looks at the approaching Garu, considering if she wants to give up his love. But the disgusting way he blows kisses at her makes up her mind and she lets the moon float away just as Garu pulls her in for a kiss. With the moon gone, he snaps back to his senses and is horrified to find himself kissing Pucca. He does a lot of dramatic spitting and face wiping but Pucca is delighted to have him back to normal. They immediately take off running in the proper manner of her chasing him.

Still on the moon, the oblivious Vagabond Clan have set up a huge mining operation to sell their "tofu" to the villages and make themselves rich. They leap for joy at the idea, only to notice the low gravity and finally realize they've been sent into orbit as they float towards a nearby spaceship. Inside, one of the astronauts sees Clown pressed against the door window, presuming him to be a "Tofu Salesman". The other astronaut thinks he is telling a knock knock joke.

The next day at the Goh-Rong, Garu and Abyo are sparring again while Pucca, Ching, and the chefs watch them. Pucca agrees with her uncles that it is better to let things take their natural course, but Ching wishes that Abyo would act a little more lovey-dovey. at that moment, Garu has thrown Abyo face-first into a mud puddle which Ching takes as her opportunity. Running over, she thanks Abyo for this "gesture" and proceeds to hop back and forth across the puddle while stepping on his head to stay clean. His protests to this are drowned out by the mud while the chefs and Pucca laugh.
