Finding Honey Dumplings is the 2nd segment of the 5th episode of Pucca: Love Recipe.
Synopsis[]
Gram, having only one tooth left, wants to try a very special dish while she still can. The chefs want to prepare dumplings with legendary honey for her, leaving Pucca and her friends to find it!
Plot[]
During lunch at the Goh-Rong Restaurant, Dada notices Gram not eating and asks her what is wrong, drawing the attention of Pucca, Ching, and Garu. Gram explains that in her old age, she only has one tooth remaining and that once it is gone, she will no longer eat solid foods. She is sad because she wanted to eat something special but readies to eat her normal dumplings which might be her last. The chefs have heard her story and ask her not use her last tooth as they will make a once-in-a-lifetime dish just for her.
The chefs have it in mind to make Honey Dumplings, using a legendary honey they'd heard about long ago. Fyah with his super-hearing equipment is not pleased about this quest, refusing to let Goh-Rong beat the Dong King Restaurant.
The chefs entrust this mission to Garu and though no one knows where the legendary honey is, he can find clues on the paw of the Honey Bear of the Blue Caves. Garu sets off for the caves, joined by Pucca and Ching. Fyah sees them go and orders Tobe to get the honey first. Tobe is not happy with always being ordered around, especially today as he was dealing with stomach problems which his minions blame on his late night snacking.
Unaware they are being tailed, the kids arrive to the Blue Caves. Though at first they seem too small to hold a bear, the ground gives way and they fall down into a bigger cavern. Here, the Honey Bear lives and it is not pleased with their intrusion. Tobe's gang also fall in and while the minions are quickly knocked aside, Tobe is determined to see what is on the bear's foot. He catches one with a lasso and they force it to lift, but this is the wrong foot and now the bear is really furious.
While the Honey Bear chases after Tobe, Pucca has seen writing on the cave walls which tells for a method to use on the bear. She also finds an old drum and as she plays a song, the bear begins to dance. Everyone else starts dancing along - except for Tobe who thinks them foolish. Garu spies long grass from the bear's bed and uses a piece to tickle the animal until it falls over, allowing them to finally see the clues on the bottom of its paw.
The kids continue on with their quest and find the tree which holds the bee hive they needed, oozing with legendary honey. Garu readies to collect some of the honey, but Tobe's group has returned and catapults stones at him. The ninja dodges but the stones hit the hive that angered the bees which go after the pig-tailed boy. Just as he's about to be stung, the lovely singing of a nearby bird lulls the insects into calming down and allowing access to the honey.
Tobe won't allow this and slips a pair of headphones on the bird, then turns on some loud music. The bird's singing turns to aggravated screeching, riling up the bees which go after the kids again. Tobe goes for the honey himself, gloating over his rival, but Garu turns the tables on him by catching the bees in the honey jar and throwing them at the dark ninja. The villains run away, chased by the bees, and drop the music player which Pucca shuts off. The bird returns to normal, thankful to the kids, while they finally collect the legendary honey.
Back at the Goh-Rong, Dada presents to Gram the completed honey dumplings. She takes a bite and immediately loves them, finding them everything she'd hoped for. Tempted to keep eating such a dish, Gram reveals to everyone a set of dentures which she puts in so she can eat to her heart content without worry of her last tooth. Everyone is glad for her.
