Fab Abyo is the first segment of the tenth episode of the second season and the thirty-sixth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on July 14, 2008.

Synopsis[]

Three professional fashion stylists declare Abyo to be the next "chosen one".

Plot[]

It's a normal day in Sooga Village until camels wander down the street, carrying three noble-looking visitors who reveal themselves to be cruel as they gleefully mock the fashion styles of Ching and Dada. After laughing themselves silly, they ready to leave until noticing Abyo showing off for the ladies again. They are taken by his shallow pretty-boy energy and introduce themselves as Starla, Mister Zoom, and J.P., fashion stylist on a quest to find the Chosen One of the beauty world, a role the think he might fit. But first, he must pass a test. They bring before him several objects -- a wedding cake, a sack of money, a box of Chocolates, a Ching doll, and a mirror -- telling him to pick the one that most deserves his love. Though Abyo seems to linger over the doll, the mirror ultimately catches his attention, which the stylists take as their sign.

They give the Kung Fu boy a make over and present him to the village as Fab Abyo, strutting his new look on the catwalk. The stylists are pleased with their success but Ring Ring questions why they think they are experts of beauty. The three explain their training in the house of Shah-Lo, where the former chosen one (who looked a lot like a thin Santa) gave them the knowledge and beauty tools with which they transformed themselves. However, their teacher's eating habits led him to put on too much weight to be fabulous so the students set out on a quest to find their next idol, having chosen Abyo. The boy himself is greatly enjoying the attention from Ching and every other girl in town (except for Pucca).

Fab Abyo has fully taken to his new persona, giving advice on enlightenment to Ssoso ("tight pants need not be restricting") and showing off to the girls by eating dumplings. He invites them to seek "enlightened emptiness" with him by visiting his new salon, an offer they happily accept.

Ching, Garu, and Pucca are walking through town when they see the newly constructed club, dedicated to Fab Abyo. There is a long waiting line and the stylists act as bouncers for entry; Master Soo and his maidens are allowed but Santa is rejected. Abyo pokes his head out and asks them to keep down the noise as they are "filling up [his] emptiness" then slams the door shut, which saddens Ching. Inside, Abyo is serving cake shaped like him to all his admirers. The other kids look through the window and see Abyo (who is still stuffing his face), approached by the stylists who tell him soon he will go with them to the temple of Shah-Lo where he will sit in a room for the rest of his life and be their idol. He loves the idea but Ching is aghast.

The next morning, the stylists ready to leave with Abyo, only to be stopped by Ching -- backed up by Garu and Pucca -- who declares they won't be leaving with her boyfriend. The fashionistas pull out hairdryers they blast the ninjas against a wall but Garu bounces back quick, ready to fight them. He's hit by a barrage of curlers that leaves him with flowing hair (to Pucca's approval), then goes against them in a 3-against-1 sword fight. Garu is winning until Zoom's sword deploys a lipstick tip to use on him, distracting him enough that another can throw him back towards the girls. Pucca rushes to intercept him, but is just using this chance to take a kiss from the prettified Garu.

With Garu down, the stylists try to hustle Abyo out of town, but now Ching is really furious (to the point of accidentally cooking Won). She draws her sword and proceeds to give the smug stylists their own "makeovers", chopping all their hair to bits. She's ready to do worse but Abyo jumps into the middle, asking they not fight as he wants to go, believing it's his destiny to be beautiful. He follows this with his usual shirt ripping but when he does, he reveals a surprise: all his eating has caught up with him and he is now quite plump.

The stylists are horrified that he's lost his abs and, disillusioned, they leave town with a passing snide to "Flab Abyo". The Ninja boy cries for the loss of his shallow pretty boy career, but Ching assured him he is still fabulous in her eyes, giving him him several kisses.
