Chop Chewie is the first segment of the fourth episode of the second season and the thirtieth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on March 31, 2008.

Synopsis[]

The Vagabond Ninja Clan release chopstick termites to the Goh-Rong Restaurant, but they soon invade Sooga Village and kidnap Abyo. Garu attempts to save him but is thwarted by the Queen Termite, leaving it up to Pucca to save the day.

Plot[]

Santa is driving a chopstick delivery truck when he's suddenly ambushed by the Vagabond Ninja Clan. They take command of the shipment and slip something in among the boxes meant for the Goh-Rong.

At the restaurant, Dada opens the chopstick box but finds only dust which he pours on the floor. The chefs take a look and are horrified to see Chopstick Termites eating their utensils. It's vital to keep them contained but an untimely sneeze by Dada launches them right out into the dinning room.

Bruce and Abyo are enjoying a family dinner when their chopsticks are eaten right out of their hands. The same happens to everyone in the restaurant throwing them into a panic because, as explained by Ssoso: without chopsticks, they cannot eat noodles and without noodles, their society falls apart.

It's pure pandemonium out on the streets as even Master Soo admits they'll likely starve without their chopsticks. Dada offers a solution to use the fork he has found, but this ridiculous utensil only gets him laughed at while the villagers continue to panic. What they need is an exterminator and a reward is offered that anyone who gets rid of the termites can have free noodles for life.

This is the cue for the Vagabonds, who drive up in a pest control van while claiming to be professional exterminators. They'll gladly take on the job and the free-noodle reward they had been counting on. Gathering the termites, Shaman reads a spell that is supposed to make the bugs disappear, but he's read it upside down and instead turned them giant. The huge bugs now wreak even more havoc while the Vagabonds flee the consequences of their foiled plan.

Garu and Abyo stand to fight the overgrown insects, but Abyo is captured and whisked away. Garu tries to get him back but the termite's exoskeleton is too tough for him. Luckily, he finds an armor store and once he's suited up in Viking apparel, he tracks after his friend. Pucca follows him.

The termites take Abyo into their newly-constructed giant termite mound and Garu, pretending to be of their numbers, sneaks in after. Abyo has been put to work as a slave using his Kung Fu skills and a carving machine to make chopsticks for the termite queen. Garu charges in to set him free and though Abyo tries again to fight, the queen uses her gooey saliva to trap him to the wall. As for Garu, he deflects her goo balls and stands to take her down. But the queen, mistaking him for a termite in his armor, has fallen in love with him and wants him to be the father-figure for her many children. Abyo, who understands their language, tells her Garu will want no such thing so she sticks the pig-tailed ninja to the wall as well and readies to destroy them both.

Pucca, watching all of this, has finally had it. She leaps into the chamber and breaks the piece of wall the boys are stuck to, while the queen lobs goo at her next. Pucca uses the carving machine to make a baseball bat and deflects the saliva back at the queen, sealing her in place while she slides Garu and Abyo away through the termite tunnels. The queen refuses to give up, though and wiggles herself free to give chase.

The kids finally make their way out of the mound but the queen, with her huge size, gets stuck in the tunnel. She sends her soldiers to reclaim the prisoners but Pucca uses a giant bug zapper to lure them away and eradicate them. The noodle girl then picks up the entire termite mound, queen still inside, and launches it off into the distance where they can no longer harm Sooga Village. Abyo compliments her pest control prowess, which makes her happy.

The Vagabonds are still driving away in their truck, bemoaning the lack of free noodles but happy enough to escape the termites. Unfortunately for them, the mound Pucca threw lands right on top of them and now they must face their mess, with angry termite queen and soldiers.

Back at the village, Master Soo publicly thanks the savoir of the village, this being Pucca to Abyo and Garu's shock. As promised, the chefs bring out a huge bowl of noodles as the start of her lifetime supply, with giant chopsticks included. Pucca uses these all-important utensils to grab Garu and put him in the noodle bowl while she jumps in herself to kiss him.
