Ching It On is the first segment of the ninth episode of the second season and the thirty-fifth overall episode of the Pucca television series. It first aired on June 26, 2008.

Synopsis[]

Set in 1950's America, Ching hopes to gain Abyo's affection by joining the cheerleading squad, but after being rejected by Ring Ring she decides to start her own with Pucca.

Plot[]

The story opens at a 1950's diner, accompanied by a Grease-esque musical number (courtesy of Tobe. Nice girl Ching is trying to get the attention of football player Abyo, but he is just not picking up her signals. Head Cheerleader Ring Ring arrives, intent on taking "Ching's boyfriend", already catching his attention better than Ching. She tells he boy she will be cheering for him at the upcoming football game since both are super popular. By the time she leaves, Abyo is completely starstruck to Ching's frustration. She decides she'll compete with Ring Ring by joining the cheerleading team herself.

The next day, Ching and Pucca head to the school gym where Ching asks Ring Ring if she can tryout for the team. Though the other girl scoffs at the idea, she gives her a mock tryout, expecting her to fail. Ching can put on lipstick while doing a cartwheel and change her hair while mounting the pyramid, but Ring Ring refuses to be Impressed. And when she commands the girl to dance until she starts to sweat, the head cheerleader declares sweat icky and rejects her. Pucca it ready to fight her but is pulled away by the disappointed Ching.

On the night of the football game, Sooga's Turtles are up against Zombie High, including a very aggressive Muji. Though Coach Chang tries to give his team a pep talk, the frightening opponents scare mascot Dada who runs off, crashing into concession-seller Ssoso. Ring Ring is leading the cheerleaders to pump up the crowd, though she's more focused in having pepple see her than the game. Even the fireworks are of her face.

Referee Santa calls for a friendly game but even the Zombie High cheerleaders declare they'll be eating their enemies' brains which freaks out the turtles. The game is on and thanks to the skills of football player Garu, he gets Abyo the ball. The cheerleaders are doing their thing, but Ching and Pucca have created their own squad to compete against them. Pucca throws Ching high into the air just as fireworks of Abyo burst overhead, a sight that the boy greatly admires until he's tackled by the zombies. Ring Ring is furious and commands her cheerleaders to through her higher, but Ching still outdoes her as Pucca launches her up to space. She comes down like a meteor and Pucca rushes to the middle of the field where the landing breaks up the game with a giant hole in the field. But Pucca caught Ching and that's all the crowd cares about.

The game starts up again, with Garu using his Garusion Illusion to confuse the zombies, letting Abyo score a touchdown. Ching continues to antagonize Ring Ring, using her swords in a flying spin move that shreds Ring Ring's banners. The outraged head cheerleader attacks her for this, grabbing her with her sleeves and throwing her around. Muji scores a touchdown for his team but finds Santa is too absorbed watching the girls fight to notice. Abyo is likewise not happy that his showing off is being ignored.

Pucca comes to Ching's defense and throws Ring Ring across the field, knocking over the Zombie High cheerleaders and crashing into a neon sign. She recovers fast and collides with Pucca again, this time getting the upper hand. Ching steps in and cheers out a "kick" which launches Ring Ring into a storm cloud overhead. She merges with the electric power and uses her scream to attack, but Pucca kicks the discarded football which blocks her mouth. She's knocked through the goal posts and into a different lot, finally defeated.

Santa counts this as a goal for the Turtles and declares them the winners, to which Muji storms away calling them all cheaters. Everyone is delighted by their wins and Pucca celebrates by tossing Ching and Abyo into the air where she catches him in kisses. Pucca follows this by tossing Garu and then catching him in her arms, getting a kiss for herself, too.
